What is ASC Specialist Mentoring?

ASC specialist mentoring is highly individualised, one-to-one support designed specifically for students with Autism and/or ADHD studying at university. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, sessions are shaped entirely around you, your experiences, your strengths, and the challenges you face.

Support can cover a wide range of areas, including managing anxiety and stressful situations, concentration and focus, organising and prioritising workload, meeting deadlines, motivation, and building a sustainable work-life balance.
My role is not to act as a counsellor or advocate, but to help you identify the barriers your condition creates and work with you to develop practical, personalised strategies to address them. For some students this support is ongoing; for others it may be gradually phased out or called upon at key points throughout their studies.

Disabled Student Allowance Non-Medical Help

I provide independent, specialist ASC mentoring support directly to students attending university or college who are entitled to Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). I am qualified to the standards required by Student Finance England and am a registered DSA provider on the SLC website.

I work with students with Autism and ADHD, offering one-to-one mentoring that helps you develop the strategies, confidence, and self-awareness needed to navigate university life successfully.

Support is available both online and in person, and is tailored to your individual needs, goals, and experiences.

Choosing your mentor

As a DSA recipient, you have the right to request a specific provider. If you have been allocated a different mentor through your needs assessment but would like to work with me, you can contact your needs assessor or the DSA and ask for Clarity Point to be assigned as your provider.

You do not have to accept the default allocation, your comfort and confidence in your mentor matters, and you are entitled to make that choice.

What to expect

My mentoring sessions are a space where you can talk openly, problem-solve, and build practical strategies for managing the academic and social demands of university. Sessions are structured around what matters most to you, whether that’s organisation, time management, communication, or simply feeling more settled in your studies.

Pricing

DSA mentoring sessions are available at £50 per hour (no VAT).

Funding for these sessions is typically covered through your Disabled Students’ Allowance, meaning there is usually no direct cost to you. If you have any questions about how your funding works or what you’re entitled to, your university’s disability support team or your DSA needs assessor will be able to advise.

Important information

The DSA mentoring I provide is a non-medical help service designed to support your studies and help you develop strategies to manage various aspects of university life. It should not be seen as a substitute for mental health services, therapy, or counselling. I am not able to make clinical diagnoses, and my work does not offer clinical treatment of any kind.

If you have any concerns about the service provided, please refer to our complaints policy.
